A leaked memo by a top Facebook executive justifying the firm's controversial data practices has caused outrage at the company's headquarters.
More than 3,000 Facebook employees have reacted to an internal post about the memo by vice president of consumer hardware, Andrew Bosworth.
In the memo, Bosworth gives a candid look into how far the technology giant is willing to go in order to become the world's most popular social media platform.
He admits that the firm engages in 'questionable contact importing practices' but claims it is worth it even if it 'costs someone a life.'

Sure. None of them know who they actually work for or what’s going on in the locked, Secret Basement Labs.
*SNORT*
They know what is going on and how their large salaries and perks depend on it.
I just saw that new movie, Ready Player One and what came to mind is someone like Facebook gets into the global virtual reality business where almost everyone is immersed in THEIR world.
And they kinda showed Amazon being involved as well.
In an article about Facebook and other social media platforms, I read an eye-opening sentence: “If the service is ‘free,’ YOU are the product.” Facebook makes money by selling you to advertisers and others who want to influence your ideas and behavior. It’s that simple.
One you realize this, everything they do makes perfect sense.
Unlike much of the world, Silicon Valley employees really do understand technology and how it can easily be abused.
FB is now doing the DNC method of shiny objects and have full intention of going even farther once everything calms down.
Obama and Mochelle are going to bring about the end of FB.
The contents of the memo, however, has caused very little criticism and has been described as 'super popular internally. "
It would seem that the employees arent upset at all about the memo or what their company is doing. They are upset that the rest of the world now knows what they have been doing, and that they have no plans to stop or curtail their practice in any way.
You mean, people like your arrogant, condescending, elitist, fascist, predatory, piece-of-crap boss, Andrew Bosworth?
That is correct. Thus, it would seem, “many [Facebook] employees” are every bit as corrupt, evil and fascist as the executives who run the company.
I rather doubt it, knowing everyone's habits is much too valuable to let that ecological niche go unfilled.
With F/B's blessing? Isn't this an in-kind campaign contribution. Was it reported to the FEC?
WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE Cambridge Analytica worked for the Trump campaign, and either stole, hacked, or through some other nefarious way mined personal information from 50 million Americans and used it to target ads on Facebook to people likely receptive to them.......activities that were lauded as leading edge stuff when Democrats did it.
WHERE WAS ZUCKERBERG when the Obama campaign used Facebook as a campaign tool in 2012?
Buying another used tee shirt?
Obama suggested to his supporters: Why not try sifting through my supporters Facebook pages in search of friends who might be on my campaigns list of the most persuadable voters? Then my campaign could ask the self-identified supporters to bring their undecided friends along.
The Facebook looting, as the Obamatons saw it, could also (A) get supporters to urge friends to register to vote, (B) to vote early, (C) to volunteer, and, (D) donate, observed a 2013 NYT story about Obamas reelection campaign.
As the criticism of Trump escalates in recent reports, you recognize that the ultra-liberal Zuckerberg has stupidly enforced double standards, never expecting to get caught.
Lets see....last report was that Facebook lost $50 BILLION in value......and counting.
Shouldn't FB be shut down, even if it only saves just one life?
There will always be people that do not care how much someone knows about them and those to stupid to understand how that knowledge can be used to destroy them.
Max Barry wrote a novel called “Jennifer Government” about a group of people that take online surveys. The surveys are designed by a computer and their answers are actually the basis of laws and policies.
It is kind of an interesting concept since the novel was written before FB and other social media became so big
SSDD, Sorry they got caught, not for the actions
They are making tbe world they want. A world Huxley, Orwell, Kafka and Rand wrote about.
I’ll bet these very same people love it when someone leaks sensitive information from within the Trump administration.
A bunch of world-changing, oh-so-special people reassuring each other that, essentially, "...you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
Her comments should go viral on fb every day.
