I re,ember the image of schoolchildren in their blue jumpers and pigtails with book satchels walking up the old street Rue Paveé past a tortured crispy critter baking in the oppressive Port au Prince heat

You had to be there.....bring your fork

Similar stuff in Sierra Leone as well....not sure where necklacing began
