First of all, is there a Klan presence, at all, much less significant in Minnesota?
Secondly, even if there were, are we now expected to believe they were being actively chased by the Klan when they plunged off that cliff?
If so, why no skid marks at the scene? Shouldn’t there be some evidence of a violent chase around the area if the Klan were chasing them on the road and forced them off the cliff?

Wait! Threatened in Minnesota they drove to California to drive off a cliff? The Klan followed them to California? That’s a helluva road trip to kill yourself. Lots of mountains and cliffs between Minnesota and California too.IMO this is two intrinsically disordered people whose messed up brains got homicidal. How did two lesbians get all those kids? How did white lesbians get black kids? I call progressive mental illness.
