Roseanne Barr thinks it's laughable that President Trump kinda tried taking credit for her massive ratings for the premiere of her revived TV show last week ... literally, she LOL'd.
We got the sitcom star Monday night at LAX, where our photog asked what she thought of Trump plugging himself and his supporters for giving "Roseanne" a big bump last Tuesday.

She didn’t used to be a consrvative, IIRC. However, Trump used to be a democrat. :)
My wife just started watching her old show on Amazon Prime a few months ago. She really likes it. She’s amazed at the message in the shows.

Create a lot of controversy and publicity by saying the show is pro Trump. Then when you have secured an audience, switch back to standard liberal slant.

She’s not Republican or Conservative. IMHO those labels mean less than nothing anymore, as far as our political class is concerned. She’s pro-Trump...just not so much as to share ratings credit with him.
Sometimes the bottom line does trump ideology. Not very often, but sometimes.
I don’t think Roseanne cares either way. She tries to humanize and make fun of all the characters.
It is pro-Trump. Roseanne's name is on the show and she's the pro Trump character. Her sister is the foil.

They would have had one, but they cancelled it so they wouldn’t have to deal with it. “Last Man Standing” with Tim Allen and it was ABC. Their 2nd highest Comedy and a money maker. ABC made lame production cost excuses why it was cancelled, in fact the same excuses apply to the production costs of Roseanne which is “drum roll” on ABC.
Roseanne knows this.
Using the Trump slogan in the show and trying to claim no credit to Trump is of course disingenuous.
I had no plan to watch “the reboot” until I heard the uproar after... I watched the replay on Sunday night... It sure seemed Pro-Trump to me.

Yeah you are correct, I just said to somebody else, I had watched it and it seemed Pro-Trump. That was wrong, should have been Roseanne was Pro-Trump... There is plenty of opposition to him too in the show. Her sister Jackie wore her pussy hat through the opening show.
It’s Roseanne plus Archie bunker. Jackie is meathead. Very cleverly done.
Her 2nd episode was far from conservative. It was sick.
Roseanne is probably correct that Trump isn’t responsible for all her high ratings. But he’s the reason MY family tuned in and I’m sure there are others. So Trump certainly helped her ratings by some unknown number.
Roseanne’s character is pro-trump, however, I predict by the end of the season the character will be a raging liberal....on the show she’s got a transgender grandson who appears to be about 9 or 10 and a black granddaughter who might be around 6 or so, a raging liberal daughter and a raging meow hat wearing liberal sister and another daughter who is going to be a surrogate.
