The president and some of his allies seized on the special counsel's words as an assurance that Trump's risk of criminal jeopardy is low. Other advisers, however, noted that subjects of investigations can easily become indicted targets - and expressed concern that the special prosecutor was baiting Trump into an interview that could put the president in greater legal peril.
The layman's translation of all of this is they haven't found a damn thing they can criminally charge our PRESIDENT Trump with, but they want to interview him to try to manufacture a process crime under the False Statements Act. He should to tell them to perform a physiological impossibility on themselves. The Constitution requires a "high crime or misdemeanor" for impeachment and they've just admitted they don't have the evidence to even hope to prove it.
Thank you. Bears repeating:
The Constitution requires a “high crime or misdemeanor” for impeachment and they’ve just admitted they don’t have the evidence to even hope to prove it.
