I’m baffled how few grasp the value of hard, neat work.
My health has recently forced me to retire but not long before I did my boss/company-owner pulled me aside for a talk. He is from India and had a very DIVERSE employee base. I’m metis but was raised as a white “oppresser”.
The compliment he gave me that stuck out most in my head was, “If I had ten guy’s like you I’d be laughing all the way to the bank.” All I did everyday was the job he was paying me to do. That seemed to make me a hero.
What were the other guys doing?
