My design would be a circular copper plate 6 mm thick and 2 meters in diameter with a central 50 mm spike extending 2 meters into the ground. The surface of the plate is treated with liver of sulphur to obtain a uniform black coating.
The plate absorbs the sunlight and dissipates the heat into the ground thus avoiding warming the atmosphere.
So now the war on energy has reached the solar stage! How does this new concept fit in with the use of Solar panels for non-carbon fuel energy?

AND the REACTION you get might be worse for you than the original action.
This reminds me of the morons who tried to save a glacier by covering it with plastic. Actually “part of it” because glaciers are YUGE!
While it did work, they had to scale way back their effort as it was too big to accomplish. Then it only made “some” difference in how much the ice melted, and all the environmental damage they (humans) caused getting there and working there (poop, garbage, fuel, pollution, etc.) they actually did more harm than good and didn’t “save” the glacier.
Like the “scientists” going to study the melting ice from global warming and keep getting their ships frozen in the ice.
As long as the grant money flows, they will keep trying these ridiculous studies.
It’s their “raison d’être” (grant money that is)
