Trump should invite Mueller over for an off-the-record one-on-one discussion at the White House or on the golf course. Get the “interview” out of the way so that Mueller can shut down his investigation and move on with his life.

Trump should direct Atty General Sessions to inform Mueller officially that, since Sessions recused himself from matters involving Russia specifically, and this was the basis for appointing Special Counsel, that the scope of Mueller’s work must be narrowly limited to those areas from which Sessions has recused. All other subjects remain the responsibility of the Atty General’s office.
