On Thursday, the polar vortex will unleash a winterlike blast of cold into Montana and the Northern Plains. By Saturday, abnormally cold weather will extend from Bismarck to Baltimore.

This “ridiculous late season arctic outbreak” is likely to threaten many cold records, tweeted Michael Palmer, a meteorologist for the Weather Company.

The author of the article felt compelled to include this:
In other words, this pocket of cold in no way refutes or invalidates the planet’s long-term warming trend.

Look it up if you want to gain better insight into these extended cold weather events.

The local news here in DC was crowing about how February was the fourth warmest on record, but then was very quiet about the very cool March, and now a chance of snow this weekend.

Go figger.

"....By Saturday, abnormally cold weather will extend from Bismarck to Baltimore..."

By Sunday morning, the Church of Global Warming and Climatology (not to be confused with actual scientific study of climate) will be cancelling their Sunday services due to 3 ft of snow.

Church leaders huddled with their supreme leader and Grand Poobah, Al Gore, to determine what lies they needed to tell the media and public to make them think this freak snow storm so late in the spring was caused by record warming of the planet.

Latest reports are that they are still trying to twist themselves into pretzels before making their announcement.

What long-term warming trend?

The Bradford Pear trees are blooming here. The Redbuds have some blooms (not as proficient as the Bradford) About norm for us. What tree is blooming; is it unusual for it to bloom so early?

And yet in a few months, they will be proclaiming March and April to have been the warmest on record.

Speaking about weather...

Does everyone here on FR realize that big WI supreme court loss yesterday came when the central and northern 2/3 of the state was getting huge snow storm.

The demonrat south section didn’t get the storm. THAT explains the loss, but the demonrat media never mentioned that fact when they reported it!

The DC area is expected to get snow this weekend. We rarely get snow in April.

I grew up in Western PA. One year after my college finals in May I went to my family’s camp up in the NW part of the state for the Spring Gobbler hunting season, and we got about 1-2” of snow.

It’s been raining all day here in Vermont, but tonight it’s dropping to 20 degrees.

Should get a nice icy road tomorrow morning.

Holy Toledo. How will the Twins play baseball with all that snow? It’s sunny but if it’s still cold, that snow is not going to melt very quickly.

“It HAS been cold in April before.”

Absolutely-——I remember an ice storm in May——we lost a lot of trees in that one because the foliage got so heavy.

In Virginia we will go from 40F to 80F in one week. No spring for us. Literally you turn off the heat and the NEXT day the AC is humming. VA has two seasons: arctic and amazon.
