U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-El Paso, lit into U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and President Donald Trump during an interview in Waco on Tuesday, suggesting the two Republicans were inciting fear in Texas voters.
"Let me tell you what the president and our junior senator are doing right now," he said at an event hosted by The Texas Tribune. O'Rourke was being interviewed by the Tribune's CEO, Evan Smith. "They want you to be afraid of Mexicans. When they call them rapists and criminals, and say only a wall will keep them out."
O'Rourke is challenging Cruz in the November election. During the interview, he often referred to Cruz as "our junior senator," rather than by name. And he criticized Cruz and Trump on their positions regarding LGBT people.
"And that ... is bullshit, and we've got to be bigger and stronger and more courageous than that," he added. "And I know that we are. I know that we are."
Cruz responded on Twitter later Tuesday: "Liberal Dems — like Hillary and @BetoORourke — say anyone who wants to secure the border and end sanctuary cities must be a bigot and 'hate Mexicans.' That’s a nasty insult directed at millions of Texans who welcome legal immigrants (like my Dad), but also respect rule of law."
The remarks come the same day O'Rourke's campaign said it raised $6.7 million in the first quarter of 2018. He said 70 percent of that money was raised within the state. Cruz has yet to release his fundraising haul for the same time period.

What a dope. Once again, the Dems conflate a desire for enforcement of the law with “hating” Latinos. He can’t fathom that people who know, work with, are friends with and are family with Latinos still expect the law to be enforced. No one is asking for discrimination against Latinos — despite what this dope and the Dems say, we aren’t back to the days of the KKK and White Power. We just want the border laws enforced.

You are right about Mexican culture. Corruption was at its Spanish founding. The royals in Spain expected their officials to steal, but not too much, to supplement their income in Mexico. Mexican people, individuals that is, I adore.
The son of my Mexican landlord ( here in Mexico) proudly proclaimed that he worked illegally after college in London before settling down to be a financial adviser.

There’s no love lost between Cubans and Mexicans, they only share a language and even that isn’t all that close, the dialects are so far apart they can have a little trouble understanding one another.

I’m from “old Southern California”, before it was raped and plundered by both Democraps and ILLEGAL INVADERS.
I do not “fear” mexicans. I do believe it would benefit their country if they went home, to where they belong.
I believe that should “mexicans” refuse to leave of their own free will, it is only right and proper to ship their remains home. Why? The California desert has way too many bones from history already buried there. Why disturb them?
We have a few small towns surrounding us, 99% Hispanic, and yes it’s not safe to go there and just mill around. Same with the east side of our small citythat looks just like Mexico. And then there’s an area on the other side of our neighborhood , separated by a main road thank God, that is black that I won’t go driving through either.
And when you watch the news guess where all the shootings/killings are happening.
