Kennedy is dead & in you-know-where & can no longer threaten film makers.

Hollywood worshipped the Kennedys and their lingering loyalty was to protect the "legacy" of the "last Kennedy brother," Ted. I recall a magazine article from 1962, I think it was Esquire, which advocated for a Kennedy dynasty, each of the three brothers serving their terms as president, by which time John Jr would be old enough to run himself. That's how sick Kennedy worship was in this country.
I suspect this movie is able to be made now only as a result of the rash of sexual abuse and harassment charges. The "me too" movement has made the exposure of leftwing icons possible. Not to allow this movie today would hold Hollywood up to intense charges of hypocrisy.
