Trump asked CIA why they spared family when killing terrorist target

President Trump reportedly asked the CIA why it waited until a terror target’s family left the building before launching a drone missile strike against him.

“Why did you wait?” the president asked, according to the Washington Post, after being shown a video of an earlier strike in Syria by the ISIS-fighting spooks.

The CIA’s head of drone operations told the commander-in-chief that the agency’s goal was to minimize civilian casualties, an explanation that left Trump “unimpressed,” the paper reported.

On the campaign trail, then-candidate Trump once said that the US should kill not just terrorists, but their wives, children and other relatives as well.

“When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives, don’t kid yourself. But they say they don’t care about their lives. You have to take out their families,” Trump said in 2015.

War is cruelty. There is no use trying to reform it; the crueler it is, the sooner it will be over.

I don’t have a problem at all with it but I doubt it really happened, considering the source.

Trouble is average Americandoes not understand war. You can only win a war by changing the enemies culture. If you don’t change the culture the enemy will retreat, regroup and return when they are stronger. Killing a leader in his home will just inspire the family to hate. This hate will be used to inspire others.

Well they probably don't want to rock the boat.

Blowup a terrorist family and the next thing you know the terrorist's will start killing women and children in their attacks.

Wait...

.
Terror has repeatedly been shown to run deeply in families.

Nurture terror, suffer the consequences!

For sure because if given a half a chance... any one of those ‘wives’ would strap on a suicide vest and off YOUR kids

The family in tribal, Muslim societies is the absolute base and bedrock of society - and an individual’s connections, support and identity. Therefore families by definition know about, hide and often support their jihadi brothers.

Americans organize society around the individual and his/her rights, and indeed, we have spent the last 60+ years in this country minimizing the role of the family.

Therefore, the structure of Arab/Muslim society is incomprehensible to us.

A friend who served in Afghanistan said the only way to stop the heroin trade there was to pay the farmers not to plant poppies for a few years, and tell them if they don’t switch to legal crops, you will kill them and every member of their family. However, he said we would never do that.

Don’t let your enemies use their own women and children as human shields.
Besides, this crap tends to run in families.
