Wake Forest Religion Professor: Christianity “Fundamentally Evil”
The Western Journal ^ | 04/05/2018 | Rob Shimshock

A Wake Forest University religion professor thinks it is not just illogical to believe in God, but also immoral, according to a Wednesday report.

Dr. Jarrod Whitaker specializes in South Asian religions at the North Carolina school and also allegedly asserted that belief in an objective truth “is the most tremendous evil that is responsible for all the great suffering in the world,” reported The Wake Forest Review.

The professor would perpetually “explain why Christian theology is problematic, racist, sexist, imperialist, and fundamentally evil,” Whitaker’s Catholic student John told the Review, who kept his identity concealed.

And here we have, my fellow freepers, another insane, moronic so-called “professor”. I can remember when the term “professor” commanded respect. Now, it’s just another icon totally destroyed by the mental disease caused by liberalism. This “professor” can go pack sand where the son doesn’t shine. Whadda idiot.

it is perfectly natural to question received teachings and traditions. And in matters of faith or in the ‘liberal arts’... all the more so. Ask, question, challenge, debate...all fine and part of what we all must do at times, imho.

But to just make up false bullsheet like this?
Does NOT belong on any academic campus.

How will we do it? With a bullet.
Where will we send them? To hell...where they orinally came from.

How much do people pay to have their kids force fed this evil bastard’s hate?

20 years ago I knew a young man, the son of my Sunday School teacher, who graduated from the Seminary at Wake. He stated that two-thirds of his professors were atheists.

What a pant load of horse crap!!!

I went to undergrad w/ the president of W. Forest; played lunchtime basketball with him almost every day. I know that Nathan Hatch would be as offended as we are at this professor’s thinking. The man should be fired.

“are pondering how best to get us into camps, and efficient ways of dealing with our bodies.”

That was just discussed on another thread.

This does not surprise me at all. I tell my students to avoid any religion and/or philosophy courses (except “Logic”) in college because those courses usually are taught by fools.

“Wake Forest Religion Professor: Christianity” is somewhat
misleading

Accordingly, the school website is more revealing;

Associate Professor of Religion and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Core Faculty

Now, doc, would that be an objective or subjective statement?

This is what happens when you let PhDs get awarded without requiring candidates to sit through a year of calculus and a year of physics.
Love or hate Taleb, love or hate Peterson, they demand quantifiable, reproducible results.

I suspect this guy is just playing games to provoke the young’uns into thinking. Belief in objective truth is necessary for standards like “good” and “evil” to have meaning, so objective truth is “responsible” for evil. Get it? What a clever boy. (It’s equally responsible for everything “good” too, but saying that won’t impress anybody at Sophomore Pot Parties.)

They were. The president, Nathan Hatch, is the son of Buck Hatch,of Columbia Bible College (International University). He was at Norte Dame.

I am sure these types of things must trouble him.

What does the Professor think about tobacco profits, which pretty much built the university that signs his paycheck?

also allegedly asserted that belief in an objective truth “is the most tremendous evil that is responsible for all the great suffering in the world,”

Which is absurd, since not only does the prof not have any final deterministic standard for what is evil, but based on common standard atheist governments or who like the prof, define what is moral based upon their own exalted moral reasoning, have murdered and oppressed far more people in proportion to their numbers.

Atheism's Body Count - Ideology and Human Suffering > The Scholars ...

At least in religion you have a supreme moral standard to how the professors to, even if there is some room for interpretation. In atheism, what being moral means sees very disparate judgments, based upon themselves as being supreme.

Catholics are afflicted by abortionists, adulterers, and little boy molesting priests (and a commie pinko pope).

Jews are afflicted by anti-Semitic, mindlessly-leftist JINOs and mis-behaving non-Jews (who have for some reason kept Jewish names, or who just hail from Jewish descent) who create even more anti-Semitism by their antics

Adventists are afflicted by some who’ve adopted key parts of the very doctrines Adventism seeks to change or correct

Episcopals/Anglicans and PCUSA type “post-Christian churches” are embarrassed, alas, period, by their rejection of almost all moral teachings

and now...the BAPTISTS (of all people!) have THIS kind of “instruction” at Wake Forest University?! Yes, I know, its one thing to be ‘open’ and ‘non-denominational’ but .. it is a very different thing entirely to hire someone who makes up such bullbleep and... worst of all... put him in a classroom !? Parents, please don’t send your kids to WFU until they clean this mess up (and out!). Even UNC is better than this!
