Over the last couple of weeks, a dramatic saga has taken place between open carry advocates and Olmos Park police in Texas.
The incident began on Monday, March 26 when CJ Grisham, the founder of Open Carry Texas (OCT), put in a call to Olmos Park Police Chief Rene Valenciano. Grisham questioned Valenciano's stance on open carry and whether or not open carry activists would have issues if a demonstration was held in the San Antonio suburb.
On Tuesday, March 27, OCT held an open carry rally in Olmos Park, which resulted in the arrest of three OCT members, including Grisham.

Okay, so something happened in March that resulted in the arrest of three people. What happened? What is the follow-up on that? Also, the text and links say they were holding, now I presume, did hold a second rally yesterday, did it occur and with what results?
Dismissed? He should be arrested!
Open carry should be legal but I find it a bit over the top. It freaks a lot of people out. Every time I see it causes a a lot of uneasiness. A little discretion goes a long way.
“See it on occasion at Smith grocery down the street. “
Not me this time. I quit going to Smith’s....lol.They are part of Kroger.
You would get use if it were more common.
Haven’t found any updates so far. Maybe MarkTwain or ammoland has more. If I see something more I’ll post it.
LOL! I understand.
Sounds to me like it is a personal problem.
The day we moved to our new home in Idaho, constitutional carry became the law of the land. I haven’t seen anyone carry openly, but I have no doubt a lot of folks are carrying concealed when I’m out & about.
So, our rights should be infringed just because some cupcake get’s queasy at the sight of a firearm? Sorry. That dog won’t hunt.
LOL! Not in NV. At least not yet. But our legislators are not in session currently and I have no doubt the next time they are there will be plenty of anti gun crap arising.

The only reason folks do this is because CC requires a permit.
Drop the permit requirement and most folks would be happy to keep their stuff out of sight.
I never understood the problem w/CC. Historically, it seems to me that CC started being outlawed only because there were those who were planning to kill someone would hide a gun, appear to approach the intended victim innocently, and attack at the last minute (note, this is colonial times). So the victim would be ill prepared to defend themselves.
When you read through old accounts of debates about CC, those advocating the ban always talk about how “evil” CC is. and how “cowardly” the perp is.
So even then, the misdirected laws targeted the gun’s concealment, not the perp’s intent and behavior (to harm someone).
Generally allowing CC would also keep hostile libs from coming up and accosting folks who dare to OC in their presence. Almost as bad as smoking, in their eyes.
The biggest update was that Olmos Park quickly rescinded a city ordinance that was breaking Texas State law.
I've heard the rule of thumb is there are 3 concealed carriers for every 1 open carry you see... I'd believe it - I'm one of them! I'd guess that at any given time there are at least a couple of armed citizens in these stores. Oddly enough, there has never been an armed robbery at these. Though the local Walgreens and one of the auto parts stores have been. SMH...
Hmmmm. According to the anti gun crowd, the only reason any of us would like to CC is exactly because we are planning on blowing someone away. We’re all just waiting for the right thing to tick us off. Of course the probability goes way up if you’re also an NRA member. Yeah, they ARE that deluded.
Who would rob an Auto Parts Store? Sure they have a lot of good stuff in there, but most of it it pretty heavy and those places are not really not much like a bank when it comes to money.
