Few Republicans in Washington are willing to go head-to-head with President Trump, but there is one band of GOP members willing to stand up to the leader of their own party: lawmakers who have announced their retirements.
While it’s not uncommon for members to feel far more liberated on their way out the door, it has taken on a whole new meaning in the Trump era, where lawmakers are confronted daily by a never-ending stream of White House controversies.
The GOP’s retirement caucus has provided some of the most biting commentary on the president in recent months, with Rep. Ryan Costello (Pa.) — the latest Republican to jump ship from Congress — even saying that his frustrations with the Trump administration helped drive him to the exit.
"I always thought I was freewheeling, but I think I've become a little bit more freewheeling," Costello told The Hill, discussing how his attitude has already shifted in the nearly two weeks since he announced his retirement. "It's a little bit less stressful."

People like Costello are retiring because Trump has the goods on their treachery, and they were given the option to retire or be exposed! They brought this on themselves. Now it’s our job to find decent replacements for these bad actors.

Fair Weather Friends ..... Who would compromise their core values for anything and anybody, but a guy named Trump.
They keep dishing it out... the name calling, the lies, the open hatred, the insults, the attacks on the family.. on the young son.. and NOTHING is done. there are never any consequences.
Just tell me what they would have done if we had attacked the barack like that... if we had called his daughters names and made fun of them... if the national media had spread lies all over the world about the barack and his wife... tell me what would have happened!!
The blacks would have taken to the streets.. the rest of the media would have gone dirtier... when mrs barack said they would go higher.. NO they would have gone nastier by far! the barack would have gone on tv and threatened the networks that were attacking them.. he’d have hell fire on them... he’d have them spied on and have the fbi on them and the IRS on them... he’s not rest till he regained control over everything!!!
So what do we do? what does the spineless republican party do? they join the dems... they hide.. they get ugly themselves.. and the people? we do nothing... we talk it to death and go back to work on Monday... we take it.. we take it!!!
And I am tired of taking it. I’m a senior.. and I can’t do what the younger can do... but the younger seem to think this is not new.. that it’s normal.. NO it is not normal and YES it’s new since the clintons came to town!! it’s been worse and worse... and It’s hard to keep taking it!!!
I heard today that God chose Trump because ..
1. he has Christian lineage in his family
2. He’s all American
3. He’s smart.
4. He can’t be bought
5. H can’t be moved
6. He can’t be controlled.
So...I’d like to see something done that gives me some peace about where we are headed... decisions.. actions..
We are so corrupted we don’t have anything or anyone who can stop the corruption or do anything about it. ONE man... ONE man... what can he do.. congress (except for maybe 3-4) won’t do a damn thing to help him or the people. Our whole government as it was set up to counter each other.. has gone nuclear.. has gone global and that is all they care about. People be damned.
