The raid on Trump’s lawyer: Why? And why now?
American Thinker ^ | 04/10/2018 | Thomas Lifson

In the absence of any public statements from Robert Mueller’s team or the FBI or DOJ – just leaks to pet media outlets – we can only speculate as to the motives for a thermonuclear escalation of tactics being used against President Trump, in the effort to reverse the presidential election of 2016.

They have extended the fishing expedition to include seizure of protected communications between the president and his lawyers, now in the hands of the FBI, the same agency that has been stonewalling Congressional investigation into its behavior in launching the surveillance of the Trump campaign on charges of collusion with Russia.

It should be noted that no evidence whatsoever of such collusion has been developed and made public, which has to be a deep embarrassment at a minimum.

Update: President Trump was negotiating conditions for his interview with the special counsel that were restrictive as to what could be asked. Perhaps Mueller determined that it was unlikley to be productive.

This raid now virtually precludes such an interview being agreed to. This will enable Mueller to seek a grand jury subpoena, which would lead to free questioning of the president with no counsel present. Trump can be expected to delcine to honor such a subpoena, which would set off a constitutional criss, and help along the impeachment movement.

Now, the FBI that is embarrassed and potentially criminally liable for its behavior in the FISA warrant application, has free rein to examine the private and legally protected communications between Trump and his lawyer, and fish for further lines of inquiry, even if legally constrained from using evidence that is legally protected.

This is starting to smell of a fishing expedition, and maybe a set-up, reminiscent of Lavrentiy Beria’s – Stalin’s head of the secret police -- famous dictum:

“Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.”

The same scum that brought down Nixon and tried the same with Reagan in 1986 over Iran-Contra are out in force here - the Washington Post, a prosecutorial team stacked with white liberals, totally ignoring far, far worse things done by their acolytes on the left. I thought at the time that the selection of Sessions as AG was bad, DHS maybe, but Trump needed someone like Christie or Guiliani as AG. Sessions is an abject failure and disaster. Look at how Mueller times this, right before the IG Report, and with selective release of information, there’s a consistent pattern here, to left friendly outlets like tne NY Times, Washington Post, and CNN. Disgusting.

Biggest mistake from day one: cooperating. NEVER give a prosecutor anything. It will just be a stepping stone. No records no interview = no conviction usually.

a separate group if FBI agents specially trained in examining protected attorney-client communications will fully safeguard the interests of the president and his counsel.

Apparently the FBI does this sort of thing all the time. Got a special team for it and everything.

The FB”I” has allowed the CLintons

and even got in a few themselves in Parkland.

Now, not satisfied, they want to overturn
the ELECTION made by Americans.

So what country do they swear their LYING Oaths to?

If anyone impeaches Trump, I stop,in any way manner way shape or form, honoring any interpretation of The Law by them, or anyone honoring them.

Really?? Do you think there was a better candidate capable of covering up the treasonous acts committed by the Leadership of Both Parties in this attempted coup??? Not a single member of the Ruling Class has been directly tied to the treasonous acts yet, he has done his job. I believe and have from the beginning that Sessions was the Deep Plant by the Ruling Class, put there as an Insurance Policy to Cover up Their Crimes should the impossible happen, well it happened and my theory gets validated more every day!

Unless they come up with a video of Trump in a sex act with Hillary Clinton, I’m sticking with him.

If Sessions was a deep plant, then Trump is part of the deep state. He put him there. He made the decision.

Here's the problem with the scenario Lifson presents here: For the FBI to conduct this raid so soon after the media announcement that Mueller doesn't consider Trump a target of a criminal investigation, there clearly has to be something else going on that is driving this narrative. I can think of three possibilities:

1. Mueller is trying to get fired so an obstruction of justice case can be made against Trump.

2. Mueller wants to be fired because he has nothing to show for his work, and he needs to make it over something so egregious that even DEMOCRATS will have serious problems with his conduct.

3. Cohen -- not Trump -- is a legitimate target here.

I’d like to know what in Hell Trump’s lawyer paying off Stormy Daniels (if that actually happened) has to do with “collusion” with Russia in the election.

The simple answer is, “NOTHING!” Meaning that Mueller has exceeded his mandate.

This is on top of the fact that he was appointed by Rosenstein to investigate the “crime” of collusion - which is NOT, NOT, NOT a crime under federal law. So the entire investigation was a fraud upon the American people from Day One.

I’m wondering when someone who is targeted by this scumbag Mueller (of Whitey Bulger fame - he put away men he KNEW to be innocent on charges of murder, and then doubled down on his criminal and immoral actions by writing against their parole) will finally stand up and challenge his authority in federal court. The Special Counsel law specifically requires that the law or laws being broken be identified as the reason for the appointment of the Special Counsel.

RE: Cohen — not Trump — is a legitimate target here.

Cohen’s “crime” if you can call it that is paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep her mouth shut during the 2016 Presidential Campaign.

Question: What does this have to do with the mandate given to Mueller, which is to investigate Russian Collusion in the elections?

Is Stormy Daniels a Russian agent?

Sorry, I don’t know what Cohen has or hasn’t done; I do know that it is amazing that the federal police can storm a private attorney’s office and take out his privileged client files. I had the feeling that Cohen would be targeted once he presented evidence that he had never been in Prague, where the Deep State said he had supposedly met with “the Russians”.

I agree. Unless Stormy is a Russian agent, this is out of scope.

Additionally, Stormy was clearly blackmailing a presidential candidate. That’s clearly a crime. Potentially, Cohen paid the blackmailer with his own money. Is that a crime? I’m not a lawyer, but I’m not sure I see how this is even illegal. Unless they go to some process violation and quibble about how funds were transferred.

I don't see this as cause and effect. "would" means the outcome is given. It is not.
