The violent aspect of the worrisome radicalization of the Turkish diaspora with a heavy dose of nationalist and Islamist ideology has been personally driven by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who publicly rewards mischief and unashamedly glorifies vigilante behavior among expatriate communities. As a result, the Turkish president is setting up a very dangerous path for many to follow on the violent trajectory while unleashing beasts to wreak havoc in host countries.
Just this week, Erdoğan personally called Turkish national Yusuf Ünsal, who was detained by German police for his interference in a protest in Stuttgart against the Turkish governments military offensive in Syrias Afrin district. Police had to pull him away from the crowd, isolate and restrain him before the situation escalated. While he was subdued on the ground, another pro-Erdoğan fan was filming him as he shouted, Till death, I will stand by Erdoğan. This video was covered widely by the pro-government media in Turkey before Erdoğan picked up the phone and congratulated him for his stand. That followed a statement by Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, who called him a patriot, conveyed his greetings and condemned the German police.
This is not an isolated incident but rather a growing pattern we see in the behavior of Turkeys Islamist leaders who unashamedly promote violent behavior in the diaspora in the name of love for the homeland.

This article is important because it shows how dangerous Erdogan's foreign supporters can be to host nations.
Tariq Ramadan is the grand son of the Turk who founded the muslim brotherhood and implanted it in Egypt after the British kicked the Turks out there. The moslem brotherhood is an Ottoman ploy to confuse Egyptians and subjugate them to the Ottoman. Few know about that.
What Erdogan is doing now in Europe is what he did to tear Egypt apart and it bodes ill
Erdogan should be crucified for his actions. I hope the Kurds in Germany are well armed and go after his thugs.
Yes. agree. I watched Egypt handle them. Friends there were involved.
I hope the EU wakes up. Some of Europe knows what the real danger is. The rest are blinded by the money and the power. Stupid move.
No reason for Turkey to be in NATO.

They would never have been approved for membership if the circumstances there were like they are under Erdogan. When they joined NATO in 1952 they were a foil toward the Soviet Union.
Now they are a recent partner to Putin. They have common interests. Enemies have become “friends” (??) because of common goals? Same with Iran?
So you are correct.

Is there a radical Muslim diaspora? I thought once they lived somewhere, it was theirs. Part of the Umma. Like Spain, southern France, southern Italy, the Vatican.
....Or so the radical Muslims “claim”.
