Illinois senators advanced a plan requiring public schools to teach a unit on the role and societal contributions of gays, lesbians and other LGBT individuals.
[Snip]
The proposal requires all elementary and high schools to teach a unit studying "the role and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State."
"People need to see their history to understand that they are a part of our society," said Sen. Heather Steans, the measure's sponsor.
The measure would also have schools use more inclusive and "non-discriminatory" textbooks going forward.
Johnson said the measure is consistent with current law, which requires students learn the contributions of other under-represented groups, including African-Americans, Hispanics and Asian-Americans.

Active homosexuality is a sexual vice. Adultery is a sexual vice.
Homosexuality is, per se, destructive of society.
Adultery is destructive of society.
If the LGBT's history is going to be spotlighted and celebrated, why not the other sexual miscreants?
Just think of all the drug resistant strains of STDs they’ve helped unleash upon humanity.
They can do a whole quarter on telling people how many men gianni versace gave AIDS to before one of them killed him and many others. They can use math!
Such cultural enrichment. /s
Are they including the history of civilizations that practiced homosexuality?

Paperwork, Mrs. Don-o! Paperwork! :)
Until that time, a warning (you well know) from Mary ...
“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad .....”

I find the message of OL Akita most sobering.
Will they talk about Alexander the Great’s castrated boy who was his lover? Oscar Wilde’s arrest for raping a preteen? Or will they talk about how great those people are, which is a lie!
Yeah, that’s the way I think about it also. Adultery destroys families, but hard to see how the damage goes hugely beyond that. It is generally private and isolated with nothing like the homosexual agenda and recruiting and parades glorifying it.
I know some parents can’t homeschool, but I would recommend that you get other parents and organize a homeschooling group. Yes, it might make you sell your Mercedes, or not take that Caribbean cruise, but at least your kids will be better.
My one and only point is that if we're going to celebrate LGBT's, we should also celebrate the adulterers, a once-scorned sexual minority who have been in the closet for so many years and are actually so much more understandable.
Allen Ginsberg liked to pick up young runaways at the train station or the public park, drug them, strip them and rape them. He’s considered (in some strata of society) not only respectable, but a kind of spiritual authority.
Yes, people should know exactly the sort of filthy and unnatural acts sodomites commit on each other in order to achieve orgasm.
Contributions ... like the spread of AIDS, syphilis, incurable gonorrhea, anal warts ... the buggering of innocent children ... the cover-ups of same ...
And an excellent one it is. Widespread acceptance of anything that is destructive to the family is destructive to civilization. The ideology of Marxism makes great use of that fact.
AIDS, genital warts, promiscuity, Are You Being Served?, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, The Boys in the Band and two runs of Will and Grace.
Would this affect private schools and home schoolers?
Agree
Government Public schools need to be shut down. Biased indoctrination teachers need a good firing, schools need a fumigation, parents need to take over and see to it that actual studies are taught in the new schools.
