I am so very sorry for what you and your husband are going through. Unfortunately, the doctors are getting spooked by the government and are terrified to prescribe pain pills for those who truly need them. The culprits are the recreational users and the synthetic drugs that are coming across the border. Years ago, doctors and patients in pain didn’t have this problem. Pain pills were prescribed responsibly but the government has stepped in and made things worse just like they always do.

And, they make it impossible for responsible people to get pain meds. I have an infected tooth. Have to wait for the infection to clear up before I can get the root canal. Ibuprofen is not cutting it. My dentist told me today he is not allowed to prescribe any opioid meds until trying a number of things and even then, it would be a grand total of 6. So, here I am, popping ibuprofen, using orajel, loading up my mouth with clove oil and praying I will be able to sleep. I hate the government and stupid addicts (not so stupid) who can get anything they want. Yes, I am a little irritated. lol Funny thing is, I hate pain meds and the way they make me feel. But, a toothache makes me willing to put up with it.

Great, a memorial for dumb asses sticking drugs in their mouths and we not only have to pay for it but for their medical and rehabilitation before they do it all over again.

This society is not only sick but nuts!

I’m waiting for that 21 trillion dollar debt bomb to go off to make people understand that this stuff is not free, and this type of irresponsibility will come back to haunt these post modern baffons!

Bingo. But it is the Intractable Pain/Chronic Pain patients who are being punished. Since I am 1 I follow this closely. I may not look sick, but most people with Ruined GI Tracts don’t, nor Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Spinal Degeneration, Heart, or rare disease.

Can he get Phenergan about 50 mg, 25 is to low for him. I know it’s an anti puke med, but it makes you sleepy. Downside is dry mouth and eyes. Just tell them the meds make him pukey. You can also add 2-3 Selenium caps at night, they are a trace mineral, and work better than Melatonin. If he’s on NORCO just kick it with a extra strength Tylenol tab turns it back into Loretabs that work better. Phenergan comes in a syrup form too. Has a generic that works just as well.

Worth a try!

Washington Post reporter Terry McCoy is writing a story on pain patients who are forced to travel long distances to obtain their prescription medications. He may later publish stories about different dimensions of America’s hidden pain crisis, but for now the focus is on traveling to obtain medications. If you are willing to share your story, he can be reached at: 202-334-5215 or by email at terrence.mccoy@washpost.com

kinda like the whole AIDS thing.....

for those that contracted that malady the old fashioned way.....well....as my daddy used to say..”if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.”

hard to have any sympathy/empathy for poor life choices.

That Heroin needle laced with Fenyatal forced itself into their veins, or the cocaine they snorted.

Do you have a link for that. My Mathematician friend would love it, he writes Pain articles, he has EDS a rare painful disease. He debunks the CDC all the time. https://www.painnewsnetwork.org/stories/2018/3/10/what-the-krebs-opioid-study-didnt-find

To: GailA; All

Thank you everyone for your well-wishes, prayers, and suggestions. It’s funny about the phenergan, before checking the thread I had just reminded him that he has it and to take one, he had forgotten that he has it. I don’t know what dosage, as long as he has his mental capacities he will control his own affairs as he always has. When he no longer has his mental capacities he will be ready to quit, that is very important to him. He is one in a million of men. As to asking for outside help in any capacity, well, he wouldn’t be too happy with me for having said this much on a fairly anonymous political forum. But thank you everyone.

But the Constitution gives the feds NO authority to regulate food and drugs. That including opiods is a states' issue.

The destruction that occurred to China as a consequence of opium imports into their nation, demonstrates conclusively to any rational person that opiods are indeed a serious threat to the Nation, and they should be treated as such a threat.

Sure, but not a very good one. It doesn't say where this study came from.

https://www.studyblue.com/notes/note/n/miderm-flashcards/deck/712694

Wikipedia has an entry with a similar chart.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_opium_in_China

I've never seen a chart that shows the Opium trade after 1880, and I think this is because by this time it had become quite embarrassing to the British, and so they may have stopped releasing the figures on what they were doing.

Opium continued to be imported into China up until the 1940s, and then dictator Mao came along and executed anyone caught engaging in the trade or usage of Opium.

Most common dose is 25 mg, but you can take up to 50 mg. I’m a Intractable Pain Patient, mostly GI so not much I can take. I have Gastropresis very slow digestion and Meneire’s lesser form of Vertigo, so I have a lot of episodes of puking and have to have it on hand. Wouldn’t be the first time I used it for a sleeping pill.

Not just guns. My son was beat to death with a 2 ft section of Fence Post. My best friend’s 8 yr old little girl was beat, Raped, strangled with her own shoelaces till unconscious, then tied in a blanket, thrown off a dock to drown in the river. DNA proof Perp is in DR 28 yrs now still appealing.

Could be, Roger is a highly skilled researcher, he might find out more his sources are vast in the academic world.

I sent him the purposed TN HB 1831/2 and he debunked them in about an hr.
