Thanks to the left wing omnibus bill they all passed the republicans likely won’t have to worry about picking a speaker in January. The Dems will be doing it.
I forgot about Comm Ave. Very vanilla as well.
Never said there weren’t any. And you choose basketball, gee, that’s a landmark statement.
Ever been to a Bruins, Sox or Pats game? There ain’t too many there.
Watertown, Ma....83% white Newton, Ma....79% white Cambridge, Ma...67% white Boston, Ma...53% white Brookline, Ma...77% white
Seems pretty white to me.
To be honest I feel you run pretty far left with Occasional Conservative moments. Just my observation not an accusation. Maybe Libertarian, I don't know.
You are spouting demographics, not segregation——what on earth does that have to do with Boston being the most segregated city in the WORLD?
.
How many Dems are retiring? Maybe the Dems will pick up a few, but not all R seats will be D...
Out of curiosity, are you a member of the Boston Chamber of Commerce? You seem wicked pissed off that I think Beantown is segregated.
Does it have to have, Whites Only signs, to be segregated? Of course not. But, much like places like Asheville, another white liberal bastion, the signs aren’t needed. And for the most part, that’s because of economics. Rich white liberals can afford to live there. And rich, white liberals tend to live in the least diverse area’s contrary to one of their liberal mantra’s of, celebrating diversity.
BS
Ryan is a Republican. He is speaker of the House
You don’t know what a Rino is
“Rich white liberals can afford to live there. And rich, white liberals tend to live in the least diverse areas contrary to one of their liberal mantras of, celebrating diversity.”
Exactly——and the working class whites can’t afford to live there either-——it’s economic segregation, not racial segregation.
.
As I stated, just because there’s no, White Only signs, hanging on the bathroom door doesn’t mean that there isn’t racial segregation. There are neighborhoods all over the country like that. In Atlanta, I can take you to one, right now, that if a “brown person” walks down certain streets, the off-duty cops that patrol the neighborhood get a call to find out why he’s there.
I’m not talking about the segregation of the 40s, 50s and 60s, nowadays it’s much more subtle, or in some cases not so subtle.
They arent racists they just dont want to be in a ghetto.
Can a group of black guys walk into a bar in Southie or on the North End and expect to be treated like any other customer? You and I both know the answer to that. Anymore than a group of white guys, from either of those places can walk into a bar in Dorchester?
But, it’s been a long time since I’ve been in Boston and maybe those places have changed, who knows. But, when I used to bounce around there, all I saw was a sea of white folks.
It was noisy and it was nasty——and it was 40 years ago.
Court ordered school integration was unpopular in many areas, not just Boston.
Busing did nothing but damage formerly good school systems.
.
.
I don’t disagree with what you said.
But I always like to point out the smug hypocrisy of Northerners towards the South.
No. It was taken in Tennessee.
Get a life
That photo’s not from Boston. Look at the clothes the kids are wearing. That picture was taken back in the fifties, long before busing was an issue in Boston.
“But I always like to point out the smug hypocrisy of Northerners towards the South.”
With a very few exceptions it doesn’t exist except in your
mind.
I have lives in MA my entire life and have NEVER heard one person knock the South, which we have all visited and enjoyed very much.
I have seen it on FR though, but no place else.
.
.
I’m not sure why you’d say that. I do have a libertarian outlook in general, but my political principles are hard-core conservative. Pick 3-5 defining issues and I’ll tell you where I stand on them to make my point.
Maybe because you think Libertarianism has anything to do with Conservatism. I just know that I often read a post by you thinking wow what a liberal bent and get to the bottom and there you are.
