Kaepernick tryout with Seahawks postponed after he refuses to rule out kneeling for anthem: Report

Former 49ers quarterback remains unsigned after high-profile protest

The Seattle Seahawks reportedly postponed a tryout with free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick after he wouldn’t rule out kneeling during the national anthem.

The Seahawks organization is still considering holding a workout with Kaepernick, who sat out the 2017 NFL season without a contract following a season in which he emerged as the leader of the player take-a-knee activism.

After making arrangements for the tryout two weeks ago, “the trip was unexpectedly scuttled over the Seahawks’ last-minute stipulation regarding Kaepernick’s anthem stance,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing a source.

“The source said the Seahawks wanted to know that Kaepernick wouldn’t kneel this season, and he was unwilling to give that assurance to them,” ESPN said in a Thursday report.

IIRC that Michel Jordan once said that he doesn’t talk about politics because Republicans buy sneakers too.

If the Hawks don’t sign him there’ll be yelling about racism regardless of the fact that he’s disruptive and a lousy QB.

The Seahawks unloaded Bennett to Philadelphia for a ham sandwich...

two weeks before the Houston DA filed a felony arrest warrant on him for for assaulting a 66 year old paraplegic lady in a wheelchair at the Super Bowl in 2017.

The Seahawks need to get smarter to beat the LA Rams and 49ers next season, not dumber. They are unloading all the dum@$$&$ off their team to try and get back to, you know, winning football games.

They do need one, what with Boykin out for beating up his girlfriend, among other felonious things. I would recruit Tebow before Colon...

UGH! Michael Bennett poisoned their locker room with his antics, and they want to bring in Kaepernick?

Agreed. So glad when they dropped him.

Kap is way past being just plain dumb. In what world would any team give him a tryout? Kap, while strong as an ox has the brains of one too! The 49ers worked for several years to develop his play making ability. No go! The guy just doesn’t have the brain power needed to be a first rate NFL quarterback (or even a 3rd rate one!)

Just say Thanks, but no thanks to Kap!

Not a man of his word. Last year, I’m pretty sure I read where Kap said he would NOT kneel if he got onto a team.
Let him keep playing this losing hand, then blaming ‘Da White Man!’ for his problems.

Yeah, their white center from conservative small town Missouri was one of his earliest supporters - but then again, he is a Mizzou product.

"I thought the Seahawks players and Pete Carroll were pretty much a pro-kneeling lefty bunch. Why would they care?"

Even though the time and dates for the 2018 regular season haven't been released - the opponents are already known so Seattle season ticket purchasers are primed and ready or ... maybe they aren't.

The rubber is just starting to meet the road when teams will begin reaping what they so cavalierly sowed last season.

More fake news.

The ESPN “reporter” who broke this story is saying “sources”. But he won’t say who the sources are. That would be racist, I guess.

Their coach is a huge leftist. Always despised Carroll since back in his USC days.
