Translation Comey: “I felt so certain that Hillary would win that I wanted to shore up her ‘legitimacy’ by announcing the re-opened investigation... so that we could close it down quickly.”

Y-e-s-s-s-s.....we have to factor in Comey’s morbid obsession with self-preservation.

You can pick up a heck of a lot about a person if you know how to read body language and fleeting little facial expressions. To be any good at seeing malevolent predation like he claims to see in Trump (the “never recoiled” quote and Comey’s weirdly autocratic quote about his wife), Comey would have had to have experienced predatory behavior. He is a very large person and I don’t see anything to indicate that he has ever been in a position to be a particularly good reader of people in this way. Comey is built to be able to detect fear-based vulnerability, and that is a very different thing.

He talks about Trump using tanning goggles (so Trump cares how he looks), having expressionless blue eyes (which is to say that Comey couldn’t read them), of Trump seeming to him like a mob boss. What Comey is reading here is that Trump is not afraid of him or intimidated by him (OK, good!)

I totally get why our president has said that it was his great honor to be able to fire Comey.

“Comey notes here that he had assumed from media polling that Clinton was going to win. He has repeatedly asked himself, he writes, whether he was influenced by that assumption: “It is entirely possible that, because I was making decisions in an environment where Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next president, my concern about making her an illegitimate president by concealing the restarted investigation bore greater weight than it would have if the election appeared closer or if Donald Trump were ahead in all polls. But I don’t know.”

Comey can weasel with “I don’t know”, but what he wrote incontrovertibly means that his decisions as FBI Director were driven by his pursuit of Hillary Clinton’s best interests. Not the Law. Not his duty. Not a fair and free election. What he writes is simply outrageous, and doubly so because his weaseling indicates that he knows he should be criminally culpable, but just has to say it anyway.

Note how focused he is on protecting Hillary AFTER the election; he was pre-positioning her defense from the taint of illegitimacy the FBI whitewash would leave. How hard is it to believe that Comey and the DoJ/FBI were pursuing the bookend to this: Strzok’s “Insurance Policy” in case Trump won — an offensive plot to undermine Trump’s presidency by illegally using the government. If any evidence was needed to justify Trump firing Comey, Comey has just provided it.

Comey deserves a LONG prison sentence.

"Higher Loyalty" = "Please don't let me be found in some park."

he never saw Trump laugh — a sign, Comey suspects, of his “deep insecurity, his inability to be vulnerable or to risk himself by appreciating the humor of others, which, on reflection, is really very sad in a leader, and a little scary in a president.”

my concern about making her an illegitimate president

IOW, it was ok to cover up a potential POTUS' criminal record. Lock them both up.

Comey is the biggest dipshit in the world. He’s proof positive why lawyers should never run the FBI. They’re taught how to lie in law school. Only a professional law enforcement officer, with years of experience, should head the FBI. Not some unetheical shyster lawyer. I nominate Sheriff Arpio or Sheriff Clarke.

Astute observations!
Comey was disloyal to his office, obstructed justice, and was machinating against the new President. Trump saw right through him. Because Comey is blinded by ego and his low estimation of Trump, he has to interpret Trump’s attitude and questions about Comey’s loyalty as Trump being like a mob boss. These people just can’t stop projecting.

Comey seems upset that he was not able to intimidate Trump, and that is really what is going on here. People who are trying to intimidate someone will switch tactics when one tactic fails, and if you look at what Comey is doing, it’s a straight-up attack on Trump’s appearance. He’s trying to belittle Trump, and any woman out there is going to see this tactic for what it is.

I for one am taking notes on how Trump handles these guys because he is absolutely rocking this. Trump’s approvals have climbed 13 points since the beginning of the year!

The 6-foot-8 Comey describes Trump as shorter than he expected with a “too long” tie and “bright white half-moons” under his eyes that he suggests came from tanning goggles. He also says he made a conscious effort to check the president’s hand size, saying it was “smaller than mine, but did not seem unusually so.”

What a little bitch.

Maybe Comey never saw President Trump laugh because Trump found him so physically repulsive he just wanted him to leave his presence as quickly as possible.

What a weirdo. And some people think Trump is bizarre. Why did the weirdo Comey feel the need to share his strange observations about Trump in his book?

If Comey’s book reminds outraged Liberals why Trump is president (although their reasoning is ca-ca), then there is some good to come of it.

Libs hate Comey. Trump supporters abhor Comey. At least Comey is tall enough to love himself. It’s all he’s got at the moment, he and his inordinately large hands
