Stephen Ambrose, the eminent historian was asked by Brian Lamb on C-SPAN about Thomas Jefferson fathering Sally Hemmings children and Ambrose said that it was more likely Jefferson's brother and that Jefferson was not the type of person who would speak up and say that his brother did it. He believed that history would eventually judge him correctly.
