There is reason for the Russian s to make a lot of their S-400 SAM system, which they claim shot down a lot of our cruise missiles last time. Evidently they are claiming again. And it is interesting how our military leadership preempted them by claiming 40 defensive missiles were fired AFTER the cruise missiles impacted.

The S-400 proving it is all that the Russians claim ( and the west fears) would be a big boost to Russia’s image of military prowess.

Russian SAM’s did not engage any American munitions yesterday, and both US & Russia have said this.

Russian Defense Ministry list of SAMs used by Syrians last night:

“To repel the attack, Damascus deployed Soviet-made surface-to-air missile systems, including S-125 (NATO reporting name: SA-3 Goa), S-200 (SA-5 Gammon), 2K12 Kub (SA-6 Gainful) and Buk”

from RT.com

so it appears neither the S-300 nor the S-400 used.

The S-125 was upgraded a few years back so it is relatively modern. The S-200 is ancient. The Buk is very modern. These are all relatively short range.

Videos also showed the junk truck mounted FLAK that seems to have no connection to the air defense network. I always believe the Russians give this systems away because they are worthless noisemakers.
