No orthopedic surgeon in their right mind would touch a 90 year old knee, unless the patient was in Jack LaLane shape.

Someone is pulling your leg.

No, it actually happened. It led to some investigations about this particular surgeon and was a real situation. A lot of patients just accept what the surgeon says without hesitation. I had a friend that had stage 4 pancreatic cancer that the surgeon wanted to go in and cut out huge parts of all of the organs in proximity. He declined because he asked the surgeon how long that would extend his life and was told ‘a few more months’. He said no, he wasn’t going to be gutted like a fish for a ‘few months’. He died after 8 months, as is usual. Not all surgeons are ethical. it is good to ask questions. Other abuses are when people pay whatever bill comes through the door without checking the EOBs. I have found that the first bills are rarely correct when they are first sent and they are adjusted or paid by the insurance. I doubt that people ever get all of their money back if they just send in a check every time they are asked for money. That is just my experience. My wife and I have been blessed with good surgeons and Doctors but we have learned that you have to question everything.
