I have never owned a gun before and have no plans to own one. I have not ever been a member of the NRA. I believe in the NRA mission so I think I will become one of there new members. I have a feeling I am one of the few who posts on free republic that can help them reach there goal by signing up.
Thank you for joining for the sake of all of us. I know people with situations or beliefs that keep them from needing or wanting to own firearms. Nothing wrong with that.
I’ve been armed for duty before. There have also been times, when I was in a community with many younger folks with no official duty who were armed without being armed myself. They’re the more polite, responsible and clean living ones, for the most part.
People who haven’t realized and experienced that might be surprised that it feels safer than it would otherwise. It’s a bit like having some extra, free security all around while heading into the later years of life. They can better protect us, when and if we start getting more wobbly and less mobile. Heh.
