One way or another, this has to happen. The current state is completely ungovernable, and systematic vote fraud has entrenched the worst kind of weasels into the higher offices.
If all the “states” in California were the size of Vermont in terms of population that would make 65 states. And Wyoming has fewer people than Vermont (and more cows than people). Three states is too few. I’ve voted in all but one election since I was old enough to vote. The candidate that I voted for in Presidential, Senatorial and House elections has not won in 25 years with the exception of President Trump, and he didn’t win my state. I’m done with not being represented by virtue of living in my home state. I’m not moving. I want representative government and if that means more states, so be it.
A better split would be to give the lower Bay Area to new California, and upper Bay Area to Northern California (Jefferson). The dividing line would be SF Bay. Yes, there are democrats in Marin County to the north, they can move south into the democrat new California. The eastern split of the south Bay Area that stays in Northern California would be near Vallejo along Hwy 580 or so. This would be a fair distribution, giving half the Bay and islands along with waterways to the north.
I agree that the entire bay area has to go to California and let the remainder of N Calif form a state on its own.
