They're all back at the capitol working on the bill that would protect Mueller from getting axed by Trump.

But no mention of a bill to protect an innocent Trump from Mueller's witch hunt.

Exactly. That's what I have been asking for a long time. Most, if not all, of the R's have know for a long time this is a sham Witch Hunt. Why aren't they out there stopping it, or defending our POTUS rather than participating in or facilitating this hoax?

“Where are the Republicans defending the President?”

I know that was meant as rhetorical question, and I agree the Republicans have been painfully silent, but I really think there’s a reason for it besides the fact that many are are neverTrumpers.

I think everyone ‘in the know’ can plainly see that Mueller has come up empty-handed, and that after a year, he’s very close to admitting he has nothing on Trump - finally.

So, if and when the investigation is formally closed, it will more or less absolve Trump, depending on how the end comes about. More so, if Mueller’s credibility as a tough but non partisan attack dog remains intact.

I believe this is why even Trump and those few Republicans loyal to him decided against firing him or discrediting him as a partisan hack.

If Mueller is going to be reluctantly forced to absolve Trump after a year of failing to nail him, this would not be a smart time to discredit him. Instead, let his absolution carry more weight by saying things like “We trust Mueller’s judgment - let him finish his investigation.”

If Mueller is warning about fake news - it sure sounds like he’s lowering expectations of the impeach Trump crowd, in preparation for a report which he knows will disappoint them.

This seems like good news to me.

Where are the Republicans defending the President?””

Do you really believe the old media would ever report on republicans supporting Trump? Are you that naïve?

McConnell did something out of character and held the fort against Corker and Grassley pro-Muellar legislation.

Et tu, Grassley?"
