Well, good on San Diego. I guess they should not un-lash California from its moorings and tow it out to where the current will take it. There’s hope.

Is San Diego getting back to it’s conservative roots?

I’m sure this will go all the way to the Supreme Court eventually.
This is really ironic in a way.
The state of California passed laws which seek to override federal law, and disallow cooperation with federal law enforcement. Yet we see a number of localities in California suing their own state , and taking the side of the federal government on this issue.
Lawyers, prepare your briefs, legal briefs that is. This will be a legal slog.

I took a stab at living in San Diego last year. Didn't make it, but I left with a solidly good impression of that area.
It is far more conservative than most outsiders would expect of California. Very good people there. And also quite a lot of frustration among them about "those assholes" in Sacramento, LA and San Francisco.

Interesting day.
The San Diego Board of Supes shows more character and respect for the law (and the Country) than the SCOTUS.

Many accused Gaspar of bringing the issue to a county vote to gain media attention for her campaign to take the Congressional seat of Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista.
KRISTIN GASPAR
So what if she did? Brilliant move, regardless.
The hard-Left, local newspaper and all of the local newscasts are against Issa and Republicans, so this is a WIN-WIN today
for the people - the silent majority!

Diane Jacobs did a great job selling the issue.
She’s always been a fighter.

San Diego used to be a small Navy/Marine/Aerospace Industry town and thus rock-ribbed conservative. Then it grew to a massive size and the Left, like every other big city in America, took over.
The suburbs and the back country are still mostly conservative however.

Simon & Simon seemed to show San Diego as an OK place.
I’d love to have a Rock Simon style Powerwagon. One winning powerball ticket would help.
