Comey friend hints forthcoming report could be damning for Loretta Lynch

(snips) -- Benjamin Wittes, editor in chief of Lawfare, wrote at length Wednesday about the backstory of Comey's new tell-all memoir ........

..............said the consideration of other decision-makers, "particularly Lynch," paint a full picture for those people who believe the probe was a "train wreck" that cost Clinton the 2016 presidential election.

Noting the "selective outrage" against Comey for announcing the case was reopened less than two weeks before the election, Wittes said, "Lynch was a compromised figure with respect to the emails 'matter.'" The mention of a "matter" is a reference to Comey's testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last year, in which he said Lynch requested he minimize Clinton’s email investigation, urging him to call it a "matter" instead of an "investigation."

Wittes described how Lynch appeared to be "only too happy to have Comey fall on this particular grenade," in reference to how, according to Comey's book, Lynch told him, "Try to look beat up" about the renewed email probe. "Comey told me this story shortly after it happened ...... and for a lot of reasons, it has bothered me ever

Wittes also decried how Lynch and her deputy, Sally Yates, appeared to finesse the situation so that Comey remained the face of the investigation, even though Lynch never recused herself, even after her controversial tarmac meeting with former President Bill Clinton.

"Yet Lynch refused to recuse herself, even as she also said she would accept the recommendations of her investigative team — a kind of non-recusal recusal that all but guaranteed that the investigation would not close credibly," Wittes wrote. "Her deputy, Sally Yates, did not persuade her to step aside. In October, when Comey decided to inform Congress of new investigative steps, both women contented themselves with staff-level messages objecting."

I would not be surprised if Comey ends up 'Fostered' in the next year or so.

He simply knows too much about too many powerful, corrupt people.

Comey knows nothing will happen to Lynch. As the first Black, female AG, she is above the law. So why not shift some of the blame to her?

Comey’s book is nothing more than a diseased mind’s fantasy, and I will treat it as such.

This is exactly why he will not be prosecuted.

DemoKKKrats may actually have a more serious problem than most of us ever dreamed.

Were Brennan and McCabre Russkie agents?

Where is Joe McCarthy when you really need him?

Who cares. The media and the public seem more interested in a worn out porn star.

In regard to the article, I'll believe it when I see it.

You may be right.

He most likely won't drop a bar with heavy weights on his neck like Former UN General Assembly president John Ashe. And he probably won't be shot in "a botched robbery" like Seth Rich. So maybe he could just go out in an old rowboat or canoe like ex-CIA dude William J. Casey.

;-)

Yep.

The other day, someone very accurately described Comey as "an emotional basket case due for a prolonged meltdown".

I'd say the meltdown has long ago begun.

"High-ranking Russian officials claim that CIA Director John Brennan visited Moscow on March 14 to meet with Russia’s federal intelligence agency. A CIA spokesman allegedly clarified that the meeting had nothing to do with Russia’s withdrawal from Syria." March 29, 2016.

James Comey is really groveling to get back into Hillary's good graces. He's trying to convince here that (1) He did the things he did to protect Hillary (he said to ensure that her presidencey wasnt viewed as illegitimate, in other words to protect and advance her), (2) Obama exonerated him personally for the actions he took and they commiserated on what a bad President Trump was goign to be, (3) When he met with Trump he noted a litany of "resistance" petty insults like orange skin and small hands, and (4) the Fusion GPS stuff can't be proved to be false so of course it could be true.

People think he's trying to get back at Trump but it could be that he's really just trying to get back into the good graces of his old patrons. After all, due to his actions both sides hate him. He'll never ever get in good with Tumps side after what's come out, his best chance to not be a pariah for the rest of his life is to throw his own reputation under the bus, admit he was in the tank for Hillary the whole time (which he does in this book and subsequent interviews) and hope she and the dems accept that and let him back in as an insider.
