Some time ago I found a progressive over at Hannity talking up equivalence between Venezuela under socialism and some other place (Central American, I can’t presently where) that he characterized as right wing.
I do recall trying to point out the inherent difference that invalidated the comparison he’d been trying to make: that his right wing country had never had much wealth but Venezulea under socialism had rapidly gone from prosperous to a basket case ... but he simply refused to understand.
El Salvador didn’t have an MS-13 and massive refugee exportation problem when they were under one of those mean right-wing juntas either.
Oh, he understood. But the left is constitutionally incapable of admitting they were wrong. I have engaged with quite a few, with exactly the same response....it is almost like arguing with robots all running the same program.
