Oh I think this is pretty much a one way street. Republicans supporting Democrats. I cannot think of two many times when a Democrat supports a Republican in the same way as described in the article.

Only two times I can remember were Zell Miller in 2004 for GWB and Joe Lieberman for McCain in 2008. In those instances you had Democrats endorsing “Republicans” :-).
