A suspect was taken into custody Friday following a shooting at a high school in central Florida, authorities said.
Gunshots broke out at Forest High School in Ocala, some 38 miles south of Gainesville. One person was injured in the shooting, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Around 2,200 students attend Forest High School. The students were evacuated and the high school placed on lockdown, along with 17 other schools in the area, according to Marion County Public Schools.

The shooting happened just minutes before thousands of students across the country were set to rally against school gun violence in an event called the National School Walkout. The event is taking place on the anniversary of the massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado, where two students opened fire in 1999, killing 12 classmates and one teacher.
However, one of the student organizers of Friday's walkout said the event is a direct response to the mass shooting in February at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which left 17 students and educators dead.

The victim was reportedly shot in the ankle. So here’s my question. Two dumbasses are fooling around in the school parking lot with a loaded gun and it goes off. Is that a school shooting? or just two dumbassess fooling around?
How many school days will be left, after the endless walkouts on anniversaries of school shootings? I guess this will prompt yet another one. Just organize a walkout and boycott anyone who thinks it’s stupid.

Depends on two things:
1. Which side of the TV camera you’re standing one, and;
2. Is there a (D) after your name.
Get beyond the timing, were they expecting/planning on making a statement at one of these rallies? "Guns bad, ummkay! See what I just did with one!"
Then the school was evacuated and locked down along with 17 others in the district.
Conclusion?
The school district is too large and run by sympathetic idiots.

That was my rival high school growing up in Ocala - most of the rich kids went there.
The vast majority of “school shootings” are just that. Shootings completely unrelated to the school itself.
Several were bad drug deals at 3am in the school parking lot on a Saturday night.

The sheriff said at 8:39 a.m., the school resource officer heard a large loud sound and rushed to the scene where he found the victim shot. By 8:42, Sheriff Woods said the deputy engaged the shooter, identified as a 19-year-old non-student, and took him into custody.
The suspect did not resist arrest, Sheriff Woods said.
Hundreds of law enforcement officers rushed to the scene within minutes, and the first responders on scene saved lives, Sheriff Woods said. “In 3 minutes (the school resource officer) engaged the shooter, took him into custody,” he said.”
“The sheriff said the shooting was intentional, but did not offer a motive or release the identities of the victim or the shooter.”

We only had 1 high school, my town was 1200 people then, now it is 600. (I left in 1971, came back to hometown in 1995)
The wealthy here don’t show it. They just own more farm or ranch land and cattle. The lucky ones have a few oil wells. smile.
