What gets me is that the auto mfg. industry is a lot like the food industry. When they want more profit they usually wind up giving us less for the same price or even a little bit more.

Witness bacon now in 1/3,1/2 and 3/4 lb. packaging for crazy prices or little fart cars for even more crazy prices. If you want a real truck plunk down 60k or more. An entire lb. of bacon for ten bucks. My fav. OJ now is almost 7 bucks. And we grow oranges here!! We are suckers for buying the higher priced marketing wonders.

you have just summed up the wonders of INFLATION. The official G'ment stats were changed sometime in the 1980's (?). this was done to slow down the payout to people who are using the Social Security Ponzi scheame.

Grocery bills are up more than 100% for me. Where I used to go in and spend $40-$60 for groceries for the week (single) now it’s costing me $100-$120 per week (still single).

It costs more money to eat healthy food than it does to eat crap like frozen dinners, restaurant food et al. All meat products are up, most container goods have gone up with decreased content. If you’re used to premium brand bread it’s now costing $5 per loaf. London broil, top sirloin, chicken breasts, pork cutlets .... you have to wait for the BOGO to match prices pre-Obama.

It’s not Trumps fault. When he came in the prices where well along on the rise. I cringe everytime there is a sob story regarding U.S food goods. Droughts and cows, chickens dying, oranges freezing, drought crops in California and the corn/wheat belt. It all seems like a pretext to raise prices.

When Obama took office gas shot up to $5.00 per gallon within 2-3 years only to fall back before 2012 election. Think about Food, shipping costs double, prices go up but don’t come back down with the lower prices for fuel.

It might just be local economics (whatever the market will bear) I have a pound of nice slab bacon here for $3.99. I'll bet if you do a price check upstate, somewhere rural, you'll find lower prices.

If you want a real truck plunk down 60k or more.

You can build one hell of a truck for $60K. If you find a rustfree high mileage unit of any description, you can go through it replace seals, bushings and bearings, maybe a crate engine or late model upgrade, cheap paint job and have a far superior unit.

I can't see why anybody in their right mind would buy one of these current, over engineered, over computerized, over priced, unrepairable pieces of crap. (I don't care what make or model)

All you're paying for is overpaid, under-worked union thug "labor" and their bizzaro-world pensions.
