Only if you believed the intelligence, military, and law enforcement agencies were apolitical to begin with. They are all in it to expand and defend the bureaucracy, and will ALWAYS strive to support the prevailing political winds. If that is driven by trans-national interests, so what, as long as they keep their piece.

Disavowed again? They all claim to be lily white, apolitical, and constitution revering. No shortage of believers. It's what allows the system to maintain its thumb on the scale and hands on the levers of power. An outsider will NEVER be allowed to win a powerful election contest again. That and letting everybody and their cousin vote. Right to vote = freedom, everybody believes that.
The country will be here. It's not going away. Just filled with a different society. Time marches on.

I’m sure many places were great places to live back in the day. And many governments had Constitutions that were guaranteed to protect the people’s rights.
It’s when they stopped following them when the trouble began.
