You forgot that he also rolled himself up in a carpet after he shot himself in the head and walked to the park to lay down so police could find him.

He wasn't found in a carpet. There were carpet fibers on his clothing. Official reports say that the fibers were similar to the carpeting in his Washington home and that there weren't enough fibers to support the idea that his body had been wrapped in a carpet, but of course, there are people who will disagree with that.

Apparently, though, the bullet was never found, which only encourages speculation.
