Wonder what Trump had to give Paul in return for his vote?

The names of two Democrats that said they would for Pompeo. End run!

Nonsense. Rand Paul has been the President’s most loyal backer in the Senate. As I said in an earlier post, name another senator who called the Mueller investigation a “witch hunt”.

Why do you think they golf together?

I have my doubts on Pompeo but like Dr. Paul ,this is the right thing to do. Trump was elected. He deserves his choices. In the end , it is the policy of the President— not his employees. Paul did the right thing.

Maybe Rand Paul came to his senses without the President’s help.

Consider, if he has future Executive office aspirations, withholding support for Trump’s Sec of State nominee when he voted for BHO Sec of State Kerry would not be forgotten and never forgiven. And the fall out could be worse for him if Pompeo was not affirmed. Like maybe being challenged the next time he runs for Senate, and should he survive, people in his own party won’t vote for him in the general to teach him a lesson, even if it means voting for a democrap.

People who pick the party nominees are a different breed than the general election voters. They never forget betrayal, especially if he sides with Democrats to bring about the defeat of a Repub issue / person / nominee.

I once liked both Ron and Rand Paul.

As you folks say, you like him but he gets on your nerves.

When it comes to getting on my nerves the way Ron and Rand did/do it, there comes a time when I no longer like them.

I passed that point with both of them a long time ago.

Are they good on some things? Yes, I believe so. Sadly, I’ve seen them grandstand so many times against things I wanted, that I no longer have tolerance for either of them.

I have a hard enough time following their logic, and to my way of thinking, they toss way way way too much cold water on Trump when he needs the public to get behind him.

Rand comes out saying he won’t back Pompeo. While he’s mulling that over for weeks on end, a lot of folks take note and it kills support for Pompeo, and Trump.

Then Rand jumps to the positive side thinking he’s made his point and all is well. Sadly, folks are still out there having heard him say no, and haven’t seen him change yet.

This stupid ass tactic hurts our cause.

We need folks to fall in behind Trump, and Rand defeats the realization of that.

What do you think Trump might have given him - how about a talk about how those who keep sabotaging his program will have lots of competition in upcoming elections and have the truth about their “principles” tweeted weekly....

Nope. We need our President to stop picking weeds for his cabinet/staff and then going through it like a lawnmower.

If anyone has any idea, what was Rand expecting in a nominee?

Leaders have to move the ball down the field, not sit in the stands playing Monday Morning President.

Here is a thought for you two to chew on.

Quite probably President Trump and Senator Paul had this set up from the start.

By creating the illusion Paul was opposed, it drew out Dem Senators in Red states to commit to vote for Pompano thinking the nominee would never make it out of Committee.

Now these Red State Dems have been publicly wrong footed and cannot walk back their stated intention to vote for Pompao

When are you two knee jerk whiners going to learn?

We all know you are just going to mindless bitch no matter what. Your posts are just irrelevant noise since they are never based on thought but just your knee jerk whining.
