"Several Monday conversations with President Donald Trump, a meeting with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, and reassurances about Afghanistan led Sen. Rand Paul to announce Monday evening that he would vote to support Pompeo..."
It was that, or President Trump was going to sic Rand's neighbor on him again :-)

Good. I figured he’d come around. He’s got to know all this nonsense of holding up appointees has got to go. Mitch McConnell better start acting like a REAL republican.

Fox Business is reporting that the Pompeo vote has failed in committee. Anyone have details?

Johnny Isakson was attending a funeral in Georgia. He needs to retire and suffer his Parkinsons with dignity.

Just watching this on CSPAN, and he has been approved 11 R to 9 D in committee, with one (koontz D) voting “present”. So Pompeo vote is now going on to senate floor, not tonight I don’t think.

It took Sen Paul’s yes vote and Sen Coons present vote to move it along. Having vote when all 12 republicans couldn’t attend is Corker’s lame effort to derail it.

Thanks for what? Hes a spaz. Precisely, my good FRiend. We expect the vote to confirm.
That Mister Paul wanted some some cheap ink and heavy petting from the leftie media by holding the vote over the heads of us Americans is no occasion for gratitude.
It's an occasion to recognize what a creep is he (or, as you say, a "spaz".)

I'm wondering if Paul got a guarantee that American forces are leaving Syria very soon. I do not think he would make such a reversal pn Pompeo if he did not get something in return. Hopefully Paul has strengthened Trump's non-interventionist instincts.

I heard Trump threatened to give him a bunch of noogies.
