~The FReeper Canteen Presents~

Road Trip: Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi

keesler1

Keesler Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located in Biloxi, a city in Harrison County, Mississippi, United States. The base is named in honor of aviator 2d Lt Samuel Reeves Keesler, Jr., a Mississippi native killed in France during the First World War. The base is home of Headquarters, Second Air Force (2 AF) and the 81st Training Wing (81 TW) of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC).

The Second Air Force mission is to provide the best-trainined, combat-ready forces. To carry out this mission, Second Air Force manages all operational aspects of nearly 2,700 active training courses taught to approximately 150,000 students annually in technical training, basic military training, medical and distance learning courses. Training operations across Second Air Force range from intelligence to computer operations to space and missile operations and maintenance.

Keesler AFB is also the home of the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron (EIS), of the 688th Cyberspace Wing (CW), which is the Air Force's only active duty EIS. The almost 200 AFSPC Airmen and Civilians of the 85th EIS can design, engineer, and install the full range of C&I equipment and components typically found at a fixed site and other specialty systems unique to expeditionary forces.

They are also the only organization in the DoD to provide specialized engineering services such as electromagnetic hazard and interference investigations and High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protection. During contingencies, the 85th EIS can deliver their unique skills to the warfighter within 72 hours.

The 403rd Wing is the largest flying organization at Keesler, and the only Air Force Reserve Command wing in Mississippi. With a military manning authorization of more than 1,400 reservists, including 250 full-time air reserve technicians, the wing performs dual missions: tactical airlift support during peace- and war-time contingencies, and aerial weather reconnaissance supporting the Department of Commerce.

Nyquil works on decongesting, so the sinus pressure will let up, and it has Tylenol for aches and pains, and it also makes you a bit drowsy so that you can sleep.
I have never had any sort of a “hangover” from it, and wake up feeling better.
It’s all good!

I know, I am just SO bummed!
Bucks BBQ is doing fine, and Red’s family continues to run their goldmine Red’s Eats, so no worries there!
Just damn!
(sorry, Ma)

All done....the neighbor pushed his driveway snow up onto our yard. He has been making little piles out of big piles and now the snow is virtually gone.

I would have thought that the rain would wash the air. I know when it rains here I can breathe much better! Since your farmer usually plows the winter wheat under, it’s no wonder things are worse allergy-wise this year!

Have fun emptying the gauge. Let us know how much you got.

Yeah, that’s kind of a low blow. I hope you and Mr B get several chances to enjoy their food before they close. Have some for us!

Ah, COOL! Sounds like good stuff to take then.
Now to hope it does the trick and you do feel better when you wake up in the morning.
Colds are such a drag.

It washed the air a little yesterday since it rained non-stop but it only rained a little while today. And yesterday’s rain made the plant life VERY happy and spewing pollen like crazy today. LOL

Yeah, we aren’t used to having the wheat go all the way but there’s money in it this year and he’s letting it go. We just hope this extended cold doesn’t screw it up. The seeds need sun and warmth.

Only got .22 an inch today. Now we have fog and it looks really cool out there.
I did walk around to the front to check on the flowers and those beautiful white irises got messed up yesterday. Too much rain and wind and most of the stems are laid over. :-(

Awww....I hate that your beautiful white irises got torn up by the wind and rain. I hope some of the others will be luckier and maybe bloom later.

Guess I’d better go. Getting really sleepy for whatever reason. See ya tomorrow for the quiz! Oh, the fun! :)

That’s a darn shame because it can make all the difference in getting some sleep when you can’t breath or can’t stop coughing. I hope you’ve found a good substitute!

Nighty-night. See ya tomorrow!

LOL! A friend of mine reacts that way to Benadryl. Hadn’t heard of Nyquil doing that to some folks. Weird!

I stopped taking any kind of cough suppressants years ago at a doctor’s suggestion due to bronchial infections. He said I needed to cough the crud out so it didn’t sit in there and fester. So now I take an expectorant if I catch a cold and there have been no more infections. Those things are NOT fun and aren’t missed at all.

With luck I’ll be able to stand them up again. The stems don’t appear to be broken, just weighted down by the rain-soaked blooms. There are still buds on them and it would be nice to be able to enjoy them.

You might be getting sleepy because it’s late. LOL!
Sleep well and we’ll see ya tomorrow for the quiz.
