In California it turned out that the homeless were using the discarded plastic bags for their own poop.

With the plastic bags gone, the poop is ending up on the street. It led to a big outbreak of hepatitis.

Now that all the small white plastic bags are gone, in order to keep the homeless from spreading disease, they are now rounding them up and putting them in large white tents, i.e. large plastic bags.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

If they don't want to use their bare hands they will have to go back to using old newspapers.

Imagine all the baggies of dog poop picked up daily and tossed into the trash. It's wrapped in a plastic baggie, never to decompose in landfills! A thousand years from now that dog poop will be worth a fortune as bio-matter but for now is a hazard. Now we need a new law that forces dog owners to rinse out those plastic poop bags and reuse them. /s

Beat me to it.

I go through all our plastic bags to separate the ones with holes for the small trash cans and those without holes for the kitty litter. That is if they make it into the house without ripping and dumping the original contents. They’re so thin now days.
