Can't speak for California but I guarantee that if you were to spend 3 hours in NYC you'd understand DiBlasio's success.And remember....were it not for the kiddie porn investigation the Mayor of New York would be Carlos Danger right now.

In the case of New York city, APATHY.
In both elections De Blasio won, only 22% of eligible voters bothered to show up on election day ( in both elections ). De Blasio of course, won the vast majority of these 22%. The rest of eligible voters just did not care enough to vote.
I even spoke to someone who told me he just realized there was a mayoral election after it happened....
Stupidity, apathy and pure hatred of anything contrary to Liberalism. Most politicians are complete weirdos.
