Robert Kraft has long been a very liberal Democrat. I dont think he was ever a political supporter of Trump. They had a personal friendship as 2 rich guys who got to know each other through sporting events and rubbing elbows at receptions. Kraft has said that Trump was very kind and supportive about checking in repeatedly after Kraft’s wife died. But I don’t think there was ever a political alignment at all. I assume POTUS Trump may not be too happy to learn how his “good friend” Robert Kraft shivved him in this NFL meeting.
So far, it’s just hearsay, as claimed by the SF Chronicle. I think we need to pin this down further before we put our money on it.

If I’m not mistaken I think the President also said the league has ‘gone soft’.

I keep coming back to wgaf about the NFL. They sure don’t give a rats rear end about the former fans. They can pi$$ off as far as I’m concerned. When they startup the season, the pennant races are in the balance and the NHL is starting up. Don’t like those then go fishing, hunting, or play golf before winter starts. NFL who???

In every public declaration they say that protests have had nothing to do with perceived lack of support, reductions in ratings, etc. “In fact, things are all looking up! It was just the election and streaming but the truth is we’re really happy with where the league is!” But behind closed doors they are panicking about the protests, as this partial transcript shows. It also shows that they are so scared about being called racists that they are taking orders from the employees. Employees who are stupid enough to say things like bringing Kaepernick back would make things better from a PR perspective.

I predict the decline in viewers continues, though not as sharply as last year. The loss from the protests has happened.
What the NFL isn’t fixing is a game with too many interruptions and too much uncertainty about what just happened on the field of play.

I don’t know if it’s just me becoming jaded after watching football for the last sixty years or if the game has become boring. In either case, it has made for little more than background noise in the last few years.
It’s time this country switched to soccer and call it football. Problem is the SJWs and their wealthy patrons would just take that over too. So just screw ‘em all and support college sports.
It will be interesting, if ATT reveals it, to see what the renewal rate for Sunday Ticket is going into the season. I have cancelled mine and look to be moving off DirecTV in a week or two. I’ll be saving a hundred and fifty dollars a month and still getting the full spread of cable TV.

Even as politically left as Seattle is, the Seahawks had enough sense to not give Colon Kaperdick a tryout. It seems Colon wanted to continue his Anthem protests. The Seahawks can see what a loser Colon is!

I refuse to patronize the NFL in anyway, unless that fool of a Commishoner ,mans up and denounces the disrespectful action of these highly overpriced thugs. Even still, I don’t think I’ll be watching or wasting my time on that fantasy football nonsense.
