Hamas is Palestinian. They were initially supported by Iran and Syria until around 2011 when they refused to support Assad and sided with the Syrian opposition.
Currently, their leadership is based in Qatar while their militia is dispersed throughout Jordan, Syria, Gaza, etc.
Hezbollah has effectively taken their place within Syria. Not good for Syria.
Yes, they are Sunni as hell. They hate Shiites and kill them daily.
