'I just can't believe it.' Sister says East Area Rapist suspect never displayed 'madness'
Modesto Bee ^ | April 26, 2018 | By Ryan Lillis

The sister of accused East Area Rapist Joseph DeAngelo told The Sacramento Bee on Thursday that her brother never displayed "any kind of madness" as a young man or adult and that her family is haunted by the thoughts of her brother's alleged victims.

Rebecca Thompson, DeAngelo's older sister, said in a phone interview that she was "pretty much in shock."

"As stunned as I am - because I've never seen him display any kind of madness or anything like that - I just can't believe it," Thompson said. "I've never seen anything to allow myself to think he could do such things."

That's because he is not "mad", he's satanically EVIL!

"Madness" has absolutely nothing to do with it.

John Wayne Gacy was a politically connected man and I think his day gig was construction contracting, not being a clown. That was a kink in and of itself.

Charles Manson was a habitual criminal who tried to make it as a singer/songwriter in the land of the freaks (first SF then LA) and roamed in the circle of influence with Neil Young and the Beach Boys. Reputedly the Manson Family even participated in some of the Hollywood celeb orgies of the swinging 60s. He let his coven know of his plans for violence. It was an era of outlaw culture celebrated in the popular media, whether it was Hell Angels and other black leather bikers, Black Panthers, or other Communist revolutionaries building bombs, carrying guns, robbing banks, shooting cops, and causing riots.

Wasn’t Ted Bundy a lawyer (who’d studied hypnosis and other talents of mind control)?

Add to that list Jim Jones, another politically connected pervert left wing radical.

John Wayne Gacy was interested in Dave Davies of the Kinks from a 60s appearance...

June 23, 65: Kinks Gig Promoted by John Wayne Gacy

...After the show Gacy invited the band to stay at his house, and they went there and had some drinks. Accounts vary, but it was either an odd smell to the place, Gacy’s strange vibe or the shine their drunken host took to Dave Davies (or all of the above), but the group opted to get hotel rooms rather than spend the night...

Neighbor said he had a bad temper. Sounds like more....like "rage".

Wonder if the cops were ever called to his home.

Nope...don't believe it for a minute. You don't rape and murder dozens with those inclinations seeping into your every day life.

I remember seeing part of an interview that Ted Bundy's mother gave to some newspaper or magazine in which she claimed that there was no way that he could have done any of the things he was accused of.

Of course *that* particular interview took place a few days before he got the hot squat which was the very time when he was *confessing* to scores of murders.

I never believe the words of people who describe a murdering, raping, relative as being "as normal as you and I".

"Wasn’t Ted Bundy a lawyer"

No. As an undergrad he talked of going to law school and he chose to represent himself in at least one of his trials but he was never a lawyer.

I’ve only followed this case in the headlines...have police found corroborating evidence at this man’s home or is this DNA matching theory all they’re relying on?

being a former cop, they are proceeding cautiously as to not interrupt the thin blue line.

Well I disagree about the 'proceeding cautiously' part... law enforcement took a big step by arresting this individual and everyone assumes they have the evidence to make it stick.

I'm questioning that assumption and asking whether there was anything besides the DNA tie in that led them to this man?

-btw the top two genealogy / DNA testing companies in California are denying they worked with police on this case.

I was never ever frightened
By the murderer on our block
He nurtured orchids and raised hamsters
The neighborhood is still in shock

yes, the BTK killer’s wife had her name legally changed to remove his last name from her identity, I remember reading it in the news. And then she quietly disappeared to hopefully re-build her life. I can’t imagine that, she’ll probably never really get over the shock of being married to such a monster. His crimes were horrific, he deserved the death penalty.
