From his "Love me...Elect me." website: "I support the Second Amendment, but...'

Anyone that uses that phrase wants YOUR guns.

Period.

Notwithstanding the fact that he's a damned democrat...he plays up his military service a little too much...so I looked further.

Suffice to say, there are reasons that he spent 20 years AD and only made it to LTC.

He's a failure...through and through.

My dad was a Marine 22 years and retired a Lt. Col. He wasn't a failure as a Marine. He did get into some trouble early on, and the fact that Vietnam came around when it did pretty much saved his career, when they needed Warriors and not petty perfumed princes who could play a mean bridge game with the General's wife.

Suffice to say, there are reasons that he spent 20 years AD and only made it to LTC.................................. OCS? Stayed an EM for a while? In the 70’s they kept changing the requirements for Officer promotions? Every time you climbed up the ladder, they added a couple of new rungs. Promotions were frozen, review boards were postponed, you were lucky to even stay around once the Cold War ended. I made it to a worthless 0-6, 10 days before I left. No slots, no over strength positions, just a thank you for serving, and “sorry you can’t get the $$$ monthly raise”. I tried telling the General to send me to the Army War College, it didn’t work. Too many factors involved with career promotions, if his OERs were that bad, he would have been gone early on. Don’t know much about him, he could have been a JAG or a CSS officer, not necessarily a 1st echelon combat arms type. All I know is that today’s Army isn’t the one I was in 26 yrs ago.
