Generally, I avoid RedState because it has looked to me like a bunch of Never-Trump corporate shills. A whole lot of heat and not much light, if you know what I mean.
In light of the shake-up, I was curious and went over. It looks greatly improved.
This article had one particularly interesting line,
“once stood for telling the powers that be in DC to shut up and listen to the people who took their promises at face value”
This seems a bit of a simplistic view of “Deplorables” and seems to be the other side of that same slanderous coin. The fact is that nobody believes DC or Congress. They have long been less popular than a broken sewer line in the summer.
I didn't mind their anti-Trump venom; I can deal with strong opinions.
What I found abhorrent was how they banned anyone who thoughtfully supported Trump or disagreed with their views.
It was fascinating to see their comment numbers crash.
The last time I checked in (and that was a long time ago) they were down to 10-20 hardcore commenters who were as rabid as the authors.
It's their site and they can run it as they pleased but the way they treated anyone who disagreed with them and the viciousness of their banning campaign led to their doom.
