Poll: Nearly 2 Out Of 3 Voters Support Reducing Legal Immigration To U.S.

Nearly two out of three American voters say they support President Trump’s plan to reduce overall legal immigration levels in the United States, whereby currently more than 1.5 million legal immigrants arrive annually. In a new poll by Harvard-Harris polling, about 66 percent of voters — or nearly two out of three — said they support a plan by the Trump administration to almost cut legal immigration in half by ending the process known as “chain migration,” as well as the Diversity Visa Lottery, and building a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The deal would couple the wage-boosting relief for American citizens with allowing only illegal aliens enrolled in the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to stay in the U.S. There are nearly 800,000 DACA illegal aliens.

Since 2005, chain migration has allowed 9.3 million foreign nationals to resettle in the U.S. for no other reason than they had extended family members already living in the country. This huge inflow outpaces two years of American births, which amount to roughly four million babies every year.

Even after discounting normal immigration, the number of chain migration arrivals at the nation’s airports during five years exceeds the number of babies born during each year. In percentage terms, foreigners deliver one in five, or 20 percent, of all new arrivals at the nation’s airports and maternity wards every year.

Illegal immigration, like all leftist political / social engineering programs, can only be supported by massive debt, in our printed, fiat currency.

A twenty year moratorium on all immigration.

From everywhere.

Many of the $#*+hole countries of the world are less crowded than ours. Somalia has the population density of Kansas, the climate of southern California and 2,000 miles of coastline astride one of the busiest trade routes in the world.

Instead of exporting people, they should be a destination for worldwide refugee resettlement so the UN can showcase the wonderful benefits of diversity. At a 35 person per square mile population density LOWER than the USA (including the huge statistical outlier of Alaska), Somalia would have space for 35 x 246,201 square miles = 8.62 million more refugees, or roughly as many as the United States has imported in the last decade.

To reach the population density of California (240 per square mile), Somalia would need 190 more per square mile or 46.8 million more.

Somalia is unable to help the poor, uneducated and unemployed like the US can.

Increase immigration of great people from great countries.

End immigration from ******** countries.

Immigration policy needs to be as discerning as the policy that good people have about who gets to go into their homes.

GOP has another campaign ad.

As Ann Coulter pointed out, this is a winning issue in every election. Democrats can hardly defend their opposition.

Polls I’ve noticed since the early ‘90s always gave this result. Honest polls will show that 60%+ of Americans want immigration laws and the borders enforced, and they think legal immigration is too high.

If we do nothing, this country is dead in twenty years and will be a melting pot of sh*t. There is a POTUS Trump window of opportunity to shape where America will be in those twenty years. The time is now. We can solve all problems if we really wanted to. The left needs to be punched in the face hard.

Seriously? The GOP will use this data for campaign ads? This goes against everything they stand for (except for a few). It will be ignored in favor of open borders.

Trump’s plan for immigration reform is a topic every Republican running at midterm should shout out.
