Close shot of his photo ...
LOL! I just nuked some leftover spaghetti from last night and am eating it now. Ate a LATE lunch and finally got hungry again.
Glad it wasn’t too awfully hot there today. Nice to be able to sit outside for a bit. Hope the spray kept the skeeters at bay.
It was a beautiful day here. Warm and a bit breezy ahead of the cold front that’s coming through tonight. A lot of people were out and about and stopped by the museum to check it out.
I haven’t stepped outside this evening to check out the moon. It was certainly bright last night when I stepped outside. The kittehs are REALLY feeling this full moon and are aggravating us bigly! LOL
I just posted a couple of pix in #21 and have more coming.
When that racked is full, I haul the uniforms upstairs and hang them, where they stay until the guys are ready to put one on display.
I love when there is some info about the soldier who wore the uniform. Really brings it home, huh!
Nice set up, but I’ll bet it is more fun seeing how the people who come to the museum react to what they are seeing. :)
The sign on it reads, "M151A1 Training Aid Restored by Quarter Ton Military".
It does bring it home. When working on the uniforms, you can’t help but wonder about who wore it. Not only do we learn a little about this soldier but have a face to go with it too.
Close quarters but I had room to do what needed to be done.
Then one Sat., there were just two of us there and Mark said it wouldn’t be a bad idea to move the table outside the door so I could keep an eye on things. Been doing it ever since. It’s more convenient because the tote with uniforms to be cleaned is outside the door. And it’s definitely fun meeting people and watching their eyes light up, especially the kids. They eat that stuff up.
Lots of military history/memories within that museum, keep up the good work!
These pix don’t do it justice. There are SO MANY cool items there, large and small.
My part in it is miniscule but it is SO much fun. When we were leaving, one of the guys thanked me for helping and I said, “Thank YOU for letting me come up to play!” LOL! It doesn’t feel like work at all and the time flies by. What an exhilarating feeling to handle a few of these pieces of history.
Great pics.
I can imagine that the kids absolutely love seeing all that war/military stuff!
I love the Flyers Room! Lots of history there!
The only helicopter, at this point, is this neat blow-up display. This came back with us the time I went to Tupelo with the guys.
They do love it. Their mouths drop open when they see the tanks and can walk up to touch them. They stay excited all the way through because there are so many nice items to see.
The Flyers Room is new. Only been there a couple of weeks. I didn’t remember the camera two weeks ago when I went up and wanted to kick myself. This time, a PostIt Note stuck on the door right above the doorknob reminded me. LOL!
Good evening, Pro....and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
I don’t do parties or crowds, but I really had a good time. Most everyone knew everyone by name and stories and now could put faces to names.

When we were kids, my brother and I would have thought we’d died and gone to heaven if we could be that close to all that war machinery. We both loved playing war.
Yes, I was the nurse. LOL!
I just now heard the cuckoo bird at the black stork nest. I’d LOVE to see one. We had them on the hill across our town in Germany. Loved hearing them.
My brother and I would have felt the same way. LOL! We never got to go to any military museums when we were growing up. I don’t know that there were any close enough go to.
I need to hound Hubby about going to the one at Huntsville. That one’s been around a while and looks to have an excellent collection of items.
I’ve heard that cuckoo a few times but it’s closer to the nest today. And singing a lot longer.
Good evening, Traveler, and welcome home. ((HUGS)) You have had a very busy week.
Shavua Tov and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
