rammy-winning rapper and fashion mogul Kanye West is gearing up to launch an initiative to help revitalize the lives of hundreds of thousands of Chicago, Illinois, residents with the help of some of his celebrity friends, TMZ reports.
Sources close to Kanye tell us the rapper created the idea of an organization called Donda Social a while ago, but its gained some serious momentum this week. Were told the groups focus will be in Chicago, in neighborhoods facing severe problems with housing, education, gun violence and drinking water.
Kanyes friend and G.O.O.D. Music affiliate whos also involved in the project tells us Kanyes wrangled a group of A-Listers and close buds to help too. Were told the celeb friends include Common, Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Don C and several other Chicago natives.
The plan is for members of DS to physically visit the struggling areas, listen to the people and come up with real and practical solutions and most importantly money.
Kanye West collaborator Malik Yusef reportedly said Chicago-based celebrities would also work to change the political agenda in Chi-town to make education, jobs, and gang violence a long-term priority for lawmakers.
The reported campaign comes on the heel of Wests weeklong tweet storm that saw the Graduation singer show support for President Donald Trump, take heat from Hollywood elites for encouraging his 27 million Twitter followers to challenged establishment thinking, and rocked and Make America Great Again hat.
An official announcement about Wests new initiative is reportedly imminent.

Hey keep me in the loop on this Kanye.
I bet Trump helps him. New combine: KardashianS, Kanye and Donald!
I would get Sheriff Clarke! :)
I welcome anyone who can make an effort to deal with the problems of the ghetto.
President Johnson declared war on poverty over 50 years ago. Arguably poverty won.
While many may argue that Johnson and the Democrats of the day, had the best of intentions, it’s hard to argue with the results, or lack of results, of the effort.
Liberals almost never mention the war on poverty or whether objectives of the war were met.
The last thing the Democrat Party wants is an end to the misery in Chicago.
Good luck with all that.
He’s gonna need complete population replacement.
Problems in the Black community won’t be resolved until the FAMILY is restored. Marriage, two-parent households led by a STRONG father figure.
Remember how less than useless Mark Zuckerberg’s $100M grant to the Newark school system was?
Kanye may have political aspirations, but unless they really think differently than the usual, the initiative won’t make much difference. Unfortunately.
With all due respect to Mr. West, I recommend free-market capitalism. Cures what ails ya.
Is there a pool on when the 1st gun fire will erupt?
I got $20 on 30-45 minutes.
Looks like it's Kanye debating TI
PS Kanye is still a loud mouth jerk.
Just in time to clean it up for Obama’s presidential library.
But good luck with that.
Short of Outlawing the Demonrat party of Slavery, I see No chance in hell.
Lady Bird said the War On Poverty was a complete failure.
Tell me where any of these “initiatives have made a long-term difference. I remember the “empowerment zones” in Liberty City in Miami. The ghetto is still there.
