Statists, leftists, facists - are all willing to allow some private business, AS LONG AS it politically reliable and can be regulated and controlled. Its why, ironically, progressives actually favor and promote oligopoly and big business. They know exactly who to call or squeeze when they need something. Big business is also happy to oblige if it protects them
You are correct, and your observations reinforce my belief that we MUST get off of the ideologically pure position that we have to maintain laissez-faire when it comes to private business.
The Left is using it’s pull over private business to use Facebook to censor speech and to use banks to put gun dealers out of business. And because we’re more wedded to ideology than survival, we’re letting them.
